This 1965 Silvertone 1457 Amp-In-Case just landed at Heyday, and this is exactly the kind of wonderfully strange vintage gear we love having around the shop.
The 1457 was part of Silvertone’s legendary Amp-In-Case lineup—an electric guitar and amplifier designed as one complete, portable package. Open the case, plug the guitar into the amp built right into it, and you were ready to make some noise.
And just look at this thing: sparkling red finish, lipstick-style pickups, wild Danelectro-built body shape and that unmistakable Silvertone headstock. Sixty-plus years later, it still looks like something from the future as imagined in 1965.
It’s funky. It’s primitive. It’s cool as hell.
